Trauma is a part of a person, not the whole of them.
Trauma surfaces in history-taking and becomes the centre of the formulation. The question of underlying neurodivergence does not get asked, or it gets parked, or it surfaces years later in another service. A note to fellow clinicians on the cost of incomplete formulations, particularly for women.
